Gas price survey for school?
I know this isn’t the right category, but i’m not getting enough answers in other categories.
1. How old are you
2. Where do you live
3. What is the gas price
4. Do you have to make any significant changes to your daily lifestyle because of the high gas prices? Example, walking to work, not going on a summer vacation…. ETC.
5. If you know, how many miles per gallon does your car get, and what kind of car do you drive?
I live in South West Michigan, I’m 18, Gas is $4.18 where I live, and I might not be able to go camping up north this summer or go to cedar point
I drive a 1995 Ford Contour and it gets about 25 mpg.
Thanks ![]()

Cedar Point! My family just loves, loves it there! Rent a jet ski, and ride all 17 coasters!!
1. How old are you – I AM A PROUD MAMA OF 3 (19, 16 &13) LETS SAY, I AM OVER 40 AND UNDER 50.
2. Where do you live – MORGANTOWN, WV – HOME OF THE MOUNTAINEERS (WVU)
3. What is the gas price – $3.89 – $3.96 IT DEPENDS ON WHERE IN TOWN YOU GO.
4. Do you have to make any significant changes to your daily lifestyle because of the high gas prices? Example, walking to work, not going on a summer vacation…. ETC. – YES, I GROUP AS MANY ERRANDS TOGETHER AS I CAN, LIKE, DROPPING OFF DAUGHTER FOR VARSITY CHEERLEADING AND WAITING TO PICK HER UP AFTER PRACTICE INSTEAD OF GOING HOME AND THEN BACK . I WILL ALSO LOOK AT ALL THAT I HAVE TO DO THAT DAY AND TAKE MY SHORTEST ROUTE SO I DO NOT BACKTRACK. I ALSO HAVE JOINED OTHER PARENTS – TRADING NIGHTS AS TO WHO PICKS UP ALL THE KIDS THEY CAN AFTER A PRACTICE. THIS HELPS EVERYONE.
5. If you know, how many miles per gallon does your car get, and what kind of car do you drive?
I KNOW THAT I GET 24MPG ON THE INTERSTATE AND 14MPG IN TOWN. I DRIVE A 2008 KIA SORENTO.
Hope this helps! And don’t worry, gas prices are going to go up and down. Enjoy the summer the best that you can and I hope you make it to Cedar Point! My favorite ride was the one you stand up in the entire time! It was scary awesome.

Michael asks…
DSLR (Canon XSi) on weekend winter camp out?
I am going camping this weekend up in central Michigan…and its January. I am suspecting I will be outside all weekend, temps ranging from 21 to 38ish F. Will this be okay for me to bring my DSLR along? Or will it be too cold for too long??
Thanks!

Martin answers:
I have taken a Nikon D50 and D60 with me cross country skiing in a padded case with outdoor temperatures probably in the 20′s. The camera should tolerate that okay. Bring some cotton handkerchiefs to wipe off condensation.
I have taken my D50 to temperatures as low as -40° F. That is more complicated. In a few minutes the battery will lose power exposed to that temperature. (Rewarming restores it.) For walking in the serious cold I use several hand warmer packs in the camera bag. It is necessary to think out what you intend to do, so it can be done quickly. Two layers of glove liners provide minimally adequate dexterity and several minutes of warmth. A single layer provides more dexterity but more limited exposure. Working bare handed in subzero should be avoided.

Sandra asks…
Where to go on a road trip…..?
A few friends and I – in Michigan- are looking to take a road trip somewhere this summer, for about a week. We are still in the brainstorming phase about where to go, and we would love some suggestions! There are four of us, and we’re looking to each spend about $200 or less. This means we’ll probably end up camping somewhere- so where should we go?

Martin answers:
Alaska, go in the winter – - ICE ROADS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Save time and gas.
Or you can try to drive to the grand canyon and back. That should be a pretty good trip. There will beplenty of places you can pitch a tent on the way and the way back.
