Martin answers:

All state parks are great for camping, some allow it and you can find more information about the state parks near you with an app called Pocket Ranger. This app can help you narrow down which state park would fit your camping needs on the coast.

Best place to camp along the Oregon coast?

This summer my friends and I want to camp somewhere on the Oregon coast. What are two of the best campsites that offer privacy from other campers, tent sites, showers, and lots of scenery and fun stuff to do or see? Tell me why you like the campgrounds you picked, please.

Thank you!

Martin answers:

Fort Stevens is the most familiar one, and i’ve been there myself and it was great!!

Ken asks…

any beaches that you can camp on along Oregon coast?

I would love to camp on the beach somewhere on the Oregon coast. Are there any that you know of? How much does it cost or is it free? Any info would be great, Thanks!

Martin answers:

There are more than 50 parks with year-round and seasonal campgrounds in the Oregon state park system. Go here for the entire list: http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PARKS/camping.shtml

The rates and fees depend on the campground you select. Here’s a direct link: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/rates.php

Brochures for each state park are available here: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/publications.php

Send any questions directly to Oregon Parks & Recreation at park.info@state.or.us

Robert asks…

Camping in Southern Oregon/ Coast?

I am planning on taking a solo camping trip in September.
I’m going to take a break from work and things, and would like to be alone. Does anyone know of any good places to camp, that won’t have a lot of people camping right next to me.

I am not opposed to campgrounds. It’s just in my experience, they aren’t that private.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Martin answers:

I know you’re trying to avoid campgrounds but here’s a list of places to camp along the Oregon Coast in the Lane County area. Its a beautiful place. Check it out.
