Is there anywhere in california where you can go and camp in the wild?
I’ve been wanting to go out and just camp on my own, pitch a tent, make a fire, maybe as go as far as to hunt small game to eat. Anyone know of a good place? Somewhere legal preferably but if not, somewhere i wouldn’t draw too much attention.

Where is a good camping spot in Southern California where I can camp and fish?
and dont tell me something McGrath Park in Ventura
That is NOT camping
Unfortunately for the summer months all the best camping with fishing gets booked up solid on the weekends. Even private concessions have very limited spaces available. Popular lakes for fishing are Casitas, Castaic, Silverwood, Big Bear, Diamond Vally, Lake Perris, Lake skinner, Lake Hemet. Some opportunities to find a spot to camp are in the national forests near these lakes as there are a lot of first come sites to be found you just have to get there by thursday night if you want a spot for the weekend. Here is reservation info
where to go camping in California w/ river/stream/water, out door ruggedness, allows camping?!?
Just looking for a good place, recommended place were there is a stream/river/body of natural flowing water, green trees and forested that allows camping. I’ve been outdoors many times with friends but never on my own. Thought it be a nice thing to do to clear my mind and relax! any recommendation? Anywhere in Cali! I mostly cook/bbq, fish, hike and enjoy green scenery. and when is optimal?
One of my all time favorite spots to camp is Hobo Campground on the Kern River.
We are looking for a great place to camp in the California Sierra Nevadas. Where should we go?
Preferably by a river or lake.
Yosemite or Sequoia. The Yosemite valley used to be ideal for this, but it has been “discovered.”
